A Review of the Experimental Techniques for the Measurement of Temperature Generated in Material Removal Processes

چکیده
To understand the physical phenomena generated during cutting processes, the characterization of the temperature field is essential. The temperature is an important parameter controlling to tool wear and consequently the life duration, the quality of the surface finish, chip segmentation and the choice of lubrication. Furthermore, thermal aspects become more important with high cutting speeds used presently in industrial processes. A large number of techniques have been developed to quantify the temperature, which can be classified as intrusive (e.g. thermocouple technique) or non-intrusive techniques (e.g. pyrometry technique)
